Testing light. Ensuring quality.
Lightship Testing Laboratory is one of the first specialised lighting laboratories of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East — established under Siraj Industries, and managed as an independent unit so that the results it issues answer to nothing but the measurement.
- Established under
- Siraj Industries
- Accredited to
- ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- Operating as
- An independent third party

The darkroom — luminous intensity distribution, measured to ANSI/IES LM-79.
The laboratory
Lightship was created to raise the quality standards of lighting products across the region — through testing that is accurate, reliable, and aligned with the standards the rest of the world already works to.
It operates as a third-party testing entity, open to manufacturers, suppliers, consultants and project stakeholders alike, and it holds the whole range in one place: environmental simulation, electrical testing, photometric and colorimetric measurement, coating testing, and measurement on site.
What that adds up to is simple enough to state and hard to earn: a lighting product that has been through here is safe, durable, and ready to do in a real project what its datasheet says it will.

Mission & Vision
Mission
To give customers a reliable, professional testing experience across a wide range of lighting tests, carried out to international standards and approved methods — with accuracy, delivery on time, and a laboratory that keeps developing.
Vision
To be a leading lighting testing laboratory in Egypt and the Middle East — recognised for accuracy, technical excellence, independence, and for having raised the standard the whole industry is measured against.
Core Values
What the laboratory holds itself to.
Accuracy
A result is only worth issuing if it is precise enough to be acted on, and repeatable enough to be checked.
Independence
We test as a third party. Nothing about who submitted a sample changes what the instruments read.
Confidentiality
Your information, your proprietary rights and your results are yours. They leave here only where you say so or the law requires it.
Quality
Approved methods and international standards, followed as written — because a test is only as dependable as the procedure behind it.
Continuous development
The scope grows, the instruments are added to, the methods are revised. A laboratory that stopped improving would start falling behind the products it tests.
Confidentiality
Everything obtained or created during laboratory activity is treated as confidential — results, proprietary rights, and the fact of the work itself — unless it is already public, agreed otherwise with you, or required by law.
